You gotta hand it to Tonopah, NV, they do try. Here, where Wyatt Earp and his wife opened a saloon to take advantage of a mining strike, they’re remodeling historical parts of town and spiffing up downtown as if Tonopah might have a bright future in tourism. It doesn’t. A sign on the east side of town along the one main road says next gas 167 miles. On the West side a similar sign says 108 miles.
Makes you wonder who the Tonopah High football team – the Muckers – get to play.
